Independent feature film, Redeeming Love starring Abigail Cowen, Famke Janssen and Nina Dobrev had their entire approvals process streamlined by being able to use the Image Approvals online platform.

The production had 7 actors with stills approvals rights, each with different minimum percentages they are required to approve. Some differentiated between solo and group images whilst others had a flat 50% mandatory approval rate. Across the 30 days of production which were covered by stills, they had several thousand images to sort through.

Our solution

WTA Media wanted the ability to manage their images themselves in order to save cost and maintain full control of their images. They, therefore, opted for our in-house package.

We set up accounts for the film, the actors and the production, and provided them with Welcome Packs containing their login details and a brief user guide. This meant they were able to upload their images quickly and easily and actors/their reps were able to go through the approvals process online without requiring any support from us or the production.

Once all approvals had been completed, the production team were able to download reports detailing all approved images.

WTA Media uploaded all images from Redeeming Love, regardless as to who or what they depicted. This meant they had a singular list of all images available to be used, not just images containing actors with approvals rights, which saved them hours of time when packaging up all useable images.

Going the extra mile

As their photographer had moved on from the production and the in-house team was unfamiliar with how to process the RAW files they had been left with, we provided WTA Media with free 1-2-1 training on how to use Adobe Bridge, a free piece of digital asset management desktop software that many photo labs base their own approvals software on.

We demonstrated how to save JPG duplicates of their RAW files at different sizes as well as how to tag, rate and label them.

In addition to the 1-2-1 training, we also supplied this information in the form of a PDF step by step guide, as well providing links to our training and support portal so that they could refer back to the information at any time.

We then created accounts for each of their actors and supplied Welcome Packs to production to forward on to them. These welcome packs contained the casts’ unique log in information and a quick user guide so that production did not have to field any support requests across this process.
